Coher­ent­ly to its Mis­sion, Water Acad­e­my SRD pro­mot­ed in 2017 two impor­tant Sym­po­siums on the theme of Water, with the aim to con­tribute to the dif­fu­sion and root of a new Cul­ture of Water. Emi­nent per­son­al­i­ties from Sci­ence, nation­al and inter­na­tion­al Insti­tu­tions, Researchers and Diplo­mats par­tic­i­pat­ed at the High Lev­el Round Table of Gene­va and Lugano, focus­ing their work on “Water as a Com­mon Good” and on “Water as a Geopo­lit­i­cal Fac­tor”. In the occa­sion of the Geneva’s HLRT it was launched the “Gene­va Water Ini­tia­tive”. The present pub­li­ca­tion con­tains the Acts of both the Sym­po­siums and rep­re­sents a con­crete con­tri­bu­tion to the cause of the cen­tral­i­ty of water in our con­tem­po­rary era, almost under all point view: from Econ­o­my to Geog­ra­phy, from Biol­o­gy to Chem­istry, from Engi­neer­ing to Reli­gion. The strong deter­mi­na­tion of Water
Acad­e­my SRD, is to inau­gu­rate a new method­ol­o­gy in approach­ing Water relat­ed issues con­sid­er­ing this theme under a holis­tic point view, sewing togeth­er dif­fer­ent sci­en­tif­ic knowl­edges into a com­pre­hen­sive and inclu­sive Dis­course Around Water.

Alessan­dro Leto (Genoa, 1965), he is a Pro­fes­sor at Link Cam­pus Uni­ver­si­ty, Author of sev­er­al sci­en­tif­ic pub­li­ca­tions, Mem­ber of the Euro­pean Acad­e­my of Sci­ence, expert in Geopol­i­tics of Nat­ur­al Resources, matured sev­er­al expe­ri­ences in the Ital­ian Insti­tu­tions and at UNIDO. Sci­en­tif­ic Direc­tor of the Mas­ter on “Water’s Aware­ness, Con­scious­ness, Knowl­edge and Man­age­ment”, he is also a jour­nal­ist and Direc­tor of sev­er­al Doc­u­men­tary Films on Water. In 2005 he con­ceived the Prin­ci­ple of Sus­tain­able and Respon­si­ble Devel­op­ment. He is Co-Founder and Direc­tor of Water Acad­e­my SRD.
